Won ASME Student Mechanism and Robot Design Competition

The summer has a been a little quiet for Oryx 2.0 but this last week we were in Chicago at ASME’s IDETC Conference, because we were selected as a finalist for their Student Mechanism and Robot Design Competition.  After giving a presentation and poster session about Oryx 2.0, we were announced to be the winner of the 2012 undergraduate robot design division!  During this conference we realized how much great student mechanism and robot design going on around the world!

Oryx at NASA Sample Return Robot Challenge

Oryx did not officially participate in the NASA Sample Return Robot Challenge but was asked to share the stage with NASA’s Deputy Administrator (Lori Garver) and Chief Technologist (Mason Peck).  Oryx was also given an opportunity to search for the pre-cached sample through teleoperated after the competition was over and did very well!

WPIs Robo-Ops Run

We know that some of you may not have been able to watch the livestream of us competing yesterday. Fortunately, we were able to record the live stream so you can watch it any time you want.
